Challenge #49: Fasteners

Hey there Users! Welcome to our first challenge in February.

Fasten your buttons.
Anchor your eyelets.
Tighten those brads.

This week, we want to see your FASTENERS!!

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

But wait, before we fascinate you with our Design Team creations, we have a little extra goodie for you. In two short weeks, Use It Tuesday will be celebrating a cool FIFTY challenges. Let's take a quick look back at what we were using from our stash way back then.

What was challenge #6? Why, it was...fasteners!! Here's an inspiration pick from that challenge, designed by non other than Use It Tuesday co-founder Siobhan.

Now, it looks like Siobhan may have used up her buttons back in April 2011, but I'm sure the rest of us have a healthy collection of buttons, brads and eyelets to complete this challenge.

Now, please link your creation using Inlinkz by noon EST on Friday February 22, 2013. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE049 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

And now it's time for our Design Team inspiration to get you started:

Stacey starts us off with this beary cute card!! She used some of her shaped brads, the balloons, which have been hiding in her craft room for the past six years. Do you have a collection of unused shaped brads?

Heather had a little container in her craft stash filled with buttons in retired Stampin' Up colors. Without matching paper, they were difficult to use, making this Christmas Tree button collage the perfect way to use them up.

Stephanie wowed us with her careful lacing on this card, using eyelets that have been in her stash for at least two years. She also used some papers that have been around for almost a year.

Tammy didn't have to go further than her stash for all the ingredients for this "love"-ly tag, including those eyelets and some spritzes that haven't been out to play for awhile. Aren't those staples a great additional fastener?

Sherri scrapped this gorgeous layout using an inspiration picture she's had her eye on. Hoarded items on this beautiful page are the AC brads, Maya Road star pin and all the itty bitty scraps of paper backing the cut out title.

Tracy also scrapped her way through this challenge with vintage buttons from her Grandmother's button jar (guess how old those might be). Plus, she found some long lost twine and gorgeous lace in her stash just waiting to be used.

Nicole rocks this challenge with glitter brads from We R Memory Keeps that have been in her stash for about a year and an un-inked stamp that has been waiting almost 2 years for it's moment to shine.

Danielle likes to hoard entire papercrafting collections...because what's the point if you can't have it ALL! MME loves to support Danielle's hoarding with their gorgeous paper and embellishment lines. This Indie Chic collection had a large variety of buttons and brads to work with. Danielle accented her garland and also added the wooden buttons to the top of her page.

Our Guest Designer this week is Kym Upshaw from Kym's Crafty Cards. She won our Make It Sparkle challenge at the beginning of the year. Kym used some hoarded papers on her card, along with a decorative clip. Also hoarded are the vintage buttons on this card, which came from Kym's mom's extensive stash!  Thanks so much for playing with us again, Kym!

We can't wait to see what you create! Now go Use It!!
