Challenge #38: Use That Ribbon

Hello Users!

It's time for another Use It Tuesday challenge. This week, we're heading to the heart of the craft stash. Raise your hand if you're a terrible ribbon hoarder. I thought so, there's a few of us out there. So come on, pull out those old favorites, the loose ends, forgotten bows, recycled gift wraps and "USE THAT RIBBON".

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday September 7, 2012. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE038 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Here is a little inspiration to get you started:

Cathy told us she's a collector of ribbon...but she loves it so much she uses it instead of hoarding it! She finally found these forgotten ribbons that she won back in May.

Stephanie used both hoarded ribbon and buttons on her beautiful layout. The ribbons are a combination of a 2010 Christmas gift and recycled name badge. And, can you believe that button is from the last century?

Marjolaine made this spectacular 3-piece canvas piece, making her flowers and stems from ribbon from her stash. Love this piece, Marjolaine!

Victoria used extra ribbon on her card this week....along with hoarded washi tape, an embossing folder and cardstock. What a sunny sunflower!

Danielle pulled papers from a retired Basic Grey collection (from 2006 maybe?) and dug out her embossing folders to highlight these ribbons from Jillibean Soup.

Tess will make some birthday girl feel extra special with this beautiful ribbon adorned birthday badge. All the ribbons came from her stash, along with the rosette die and lettering. Tess, you must have quite the ribbon collection!!

Caroli says she doesn't usually scrap with ribbon (but that doesn't stop from hoarding it!), but found a way to incorporate it into this pretty seasonal layout, also using Echo Park papers from last Christmas.

And finally, Haven used ribbon from her stash to add the add the finishing touch to this overdue 1st Birthday Gift. Bold and beautiful!!

We can't wait to see what you create! Now go Use It!!

Challenge #37: All About School

Hello Users!

Did you hear that? I think it's the school bell! That's right, Users, sharpen your pencils, grab your paper and make sure those markers are extra scented...we're going back to class with an ALL ABOUT SCHOOL theme!

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday August 24, 2012 . No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE037 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Here is a little homework from our fabulous design team to get you started:

Cathy hit the books with this super adorable Welcome Back card using her hoarded Basic Grey 6x6 paper and some scraps. (That worm is too cute!)

Caroli made us "oooh" and "ahhh" over this little cutie, proud to finally be one of the "big kids" going to school. Caroli used her yellow Mr. Huey she bought months ago and her untouched green foam thickers.

Danielle dug into her Sassafras stash (paper, embellies AND alphas) for this "cool" layout of her daughter. We love the non-traditional "school" colors (as well as the adorable cutie pictured).

Stephanie put the challenge to practical use and made these reward cards for her daughter's education this fall. The papers have been around for a while, but that ribbon has been waiting for this challenge for even longer!

Marjolaine practiced her "ABC's" with these ancient letters and apple embellishments. To update their dated look, she stamped them with text. Adorable!!

Heather made this "First Day of School" layout using digital embellishments and paper that have been on the hard drive for a number of years. The layout will now have to be hoarded for several years awaiting the day her little one heads to class (only 5 years to go)!!

Haven purchased this School Days paper pack when her daugther entered preschool...she's now heading to 7th grade! Also added were some stickers from a garage sale find.

Victoria is ready for back to school shopping with this appropriately themed money holder card using cardstock and patterned papers from her stash.

Tess must have a rather large stash of hoarded items, because she put together an entire eye-catching mini album using hoarded paper bags, binder rings, and a Stampin' Up School Days kit!

And Tammy finally cracked open her Fancy Pants "Off to School" paper and dusted off the packaging to a star punch she won a year ago. It all "summed' up to make make this "flashy" delight.

This week, Use It Tuesday is lucky enough to have two Guest Designers for this challenge!

Our winner from challenge #35, Allisa made this adorable clean and simple card using an embossing folder and ribbon roll that had never even been opened!!

And the challenge #36 winner, Eileen Mead created another beauty for us with this card using pieces from her chipboard stash.

Thanks to both Allisa and Eileen for their gorgeous creations this week. You both get a gold star!

Now, don't get sent to the Principal's office for being late! Go Use It!!
