Challenge #43: Be Thankful

Welcome to another Use It Tuesday, Users!

Before we start our challenge this week, we want to remind you that we are currently having an Open Design Team Call for our January 1 to June 30, 2013 term. If you love to craft, long to inspire and live to USE IT, then we want to hear from you!!! Head on over to this post to read all about it.

Today, we're celebrating. Celebrating you, me, family, friends, our blessings, successes, triumphs, the big things and the little things. That's right, we're asking you to Be Thankful

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation to this blog post using Inlinkz by Friday November 23, 2012. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE043 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Before you go, we're thankful to our Design Team who provided some inspiration for you again this week:

Haven is thankful for the opportunities, past and future, to celebrate with her in-laws. She knows they won't always be there and wanted to commemorate the great memories. Not only that, but she selected things from her stash that were passed on to her from their stash, namely the background paper, leaves and journal box.

Caroli big blessing in life is her daughter, a frequent subject of her wonderful layouts here at UIT. This week, she used her hoarded Pebbles "Sunnyside" collection. This collection is so loved by Caroli that no other project seemed "good enough" for the paper before now. We're so thankful she shared today!

Stephanie is hard at work on a thankful mini album. This is the cover, which uses hoarded eyelets (wow, somebody uses those things?) and felt embellishments from almost a year ago. You can see more of her beautiful album pages on her blog this week.

Marjolaine found inspiration in this week's challenge to make a gratitude journal. She also wins the prize for oldest supply this week with some 3-year-old Fancy Pants paper and old file folders. Marjolaine also "shared" her stash this week. The triangles on her project were from some costume jewellry passed to her when her Grandmother passed away. Previous to this, no project has been special enough to incorporate them.

Danielle celebrates her friendship with the person whose always there...in good times and bad. She used that paper collection we all have... you know, the one just too special to use for anything but the best project? For her, that was this hoarded MME Your Heart Collection.

Victoria is queen of the super adorable cards and this week is no exception! She took some cardstock she got for a fantastic price, an in-inked stamp, some embossing powder from her stash and some leftover ribbon to make this card of thanks.

Cathy shows her thanks with this beautiful thank you card. She used a hoarded paper pack from well over a year ago and pearl embellishments that tend to sit in her stash for ages. She also pulled out a favorite stamp set that hasn't been used in quite awhile. Don't you love it when you return to old favorites?

Heather made a thanksgiving themed card from a hoarded card kit in her collection (which is quite extensive). The other "hoarding" fact? She actually started this one for a challenge a couple weeks back and didn't get it done in time...but, it worked today!

Tess pawed through her extensive paper and flower collection to find these coordinating beauties for this elegant note of thanks. Love that hand doodling around the edge!

Tammy used her retired Basic Grey "Eva" collection for this card, along with some wood accent she received in a swap.

And this week's Guest Designer is Susan Martin and she created this beautiful thanksgiving card using several hoarded papers from "ages ago". To quote her, "look, they still work!" We love your project Susan, and your sense of humor.

It's your turn! Show us your orange and Use It!!

Challenge #42: WINNERS!!

We're very sorry this post is a bit late. I'd blame it on technical difficulties, but in this case the difficulties were all manual! We all have those weeks once in awhile, right?

On with the show, the "orange" show, that is. We had a great time perusing the orange creations an d we hope you did too!
Our winner this week is Sherri with her fabulous scrapbook page. I love the different ways she used that  same orange chevron patterned paper:

Sherri will be asked to join us in a future challenge as a Guest Designer and we sure hope she'll take us up on our offer! In addition to playing along with the Use It Tuesday Design Team, she can add this fabulous badge to her blog. Congratulations, and thanks for playing with us!

Once again, our Design Team had lots of fabulous entries to browse through in our search for our Design Team Top 2 picks. In the end, the honor for this week goes to:

blackdragon with her super creative and pumpkin-y themed Halloween kitchen:

And Riti with her eye-catching Diwali card:

Here is the Top 2 Pick badge for your blog, Ladies. Thanks for playing!!

Challege #42: Use Orange

Welcome to another Use It Tuesday, Users!

Today, we're turning our sights on some color inspiration. Some of you will love it, some of you will hate it. Either way, we want to see the beautiful creations you make with it.
This week's challenge is "Use Orange".
***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday November 2, 2012. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE042 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

This week, our "Orange" theme may make you think about Halloween, but our Design Team is here to show you the versatility and year-round appeal of this great color:

Caroli has been hoarding these Imaginisce paper and diecuts since early this year. She says it almost hurt her heart to have to cut into it..."orange" you glad she did?

Haven also inked up an orange layout, using leftovers from an animal cracker paper stack that she bought last year and used for a scrapbook album....the very one in this layout! She also pulled the wild orange ribbon and orange cardstock from her stash for this one.

Stephanie doctored up her layout with Bo Bunny Grease papers she's had for almost two years....and it didn't even put a dent in her stash!

Marjolaine found an unfinished mini album project in her stash and returned to finish it up after a year. We probably all have one or two unfinished projects in our stash!

Danielle pulled out all her Bella Blvd leftovers and picked out the orange pieces. Then, she used those pieces to showcase her National pride, with a layout about Holland's littlest and most adorable soccer fan...Go Holland!

Victoria made this super adorable card using an orange garage sale find from over a year ago and two un-inked stamps. Super cute!

And, not to forget the upcoming "Orange" holiday, here's some Halloween inspiration too:

Cathy put her scissors to work cutting out these cool labels from some Halloween themed paper stacks she bought last year and never used. The black twine is also a forgotten treasure from her stash.

Heather pulled out some leftover scraps from her Halloween projects last year, as well as some barely used orange embossing powder. The bow also came from....somewhere....and was rescued from her "spare" pile to complete this card.

Tess found this bewitching un-inked stamp in her collection, along with an un-inked sentiment to match. And that was after she blew the dust and cobwebs off her orange cardstock.

Finally, Tammy shows us orange can  put us in the Christmas spirit too. She pulled almost everything out of her stash for this one, including those chipboard snowflakes that were then covered with orange glitter for our color challenge.

It's your turn! Show us your orange and Use It!!

Challenge #41: All About Fall

Hello Users!

The kids have gone back to school, the leaves are turning all shades of beautiful reds, yellow and orange and that crisp promise of winter is in the air. This week, please make a project that is
"All About Fall".

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday October 19, 2012. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE041 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Here is a little inspiration to get you started:

Cathy is getting in the groove for Canadian Thanksgiving with this beauty using a Tim Holtz seasonal paper stash she bought for her thanksgiving cards LAST year. How lucky for our challenge today that those cards didn't get made a year ago!

Stephanie made a fall-themed ATC for us today, using scraps from her stash and some ribbon and distress inks from her stash.

Caroli lives where the Fall season almost slips by un-noticed, but that didn't stop her from creating this adorable layout using a picture from last autumn. She also used her 2-year-old Echo Park paper.

Marjolaine had about 60 Fall embellishments in her collection, so she set to work creating invitations, napkin holders, and name badges for a perfectly festive Fall gathering. She even had some left to make a Fall-themed garland.

Danielle pulled some MME papers and Fall diecuts out of her stash to create this beautiful Fall-themed layout. Even the picture has been waiting for this day...it's almost 7 years old now!

Haven brought us the bright and beautiful colors of Fall with this gorgeous layout. Practically everything came from her stash, from the papers to the hand-me-down flowers to the drying up ink pads.

Victoria also accessed her stash to put this cutie together. From uninked stamps, to bits of washi tape and hoarded craft string....it all came together for a perfectly delightful card anyone would "fall" for.

Tammy used her hoarded MME "Allspice" paper to create this gorgeous thank you card. In addiction, the diecuts were from a swap she participated in over a year ago.

We can't wait to see what you create! Now go Use It!!

Challenge #40: Winners!

Well, you girls certainly outdid yourselves this week!  Apparently you like to hoard scraps!  :)

I will say, the Design Team picks this week were brutal...thankfully Inlinkz chose our overall winner which at least made that decision easy!
Sonia R!  Come on down!  You are our Challenge #40 winner! Sonia made this sweet card using a new digi image, but paired it with old paper scraps and embellishments.  Great work, Sonia!

Sonia will be asked to join us in a future challenge as a guest designer and she can add this fabulous badge to her blog. Congratulations and once again, thanks for playing with us!

Each week we complain about how hard it was to select the Top 2 Design Team picks, but this week was no exception!! After some very difficult decisions, we congratulate....

Wendy, who even used scraps to make the flowers on this beautiful Time for Tea card:

And Denice who made this AMAZING banner for her daughter's 18th birthday:

Ladies, go ahead and take the Top 2 Pick badge for your blog. You deserve it!!
Thank you to everyone for your inspiration week after week. Join us on October 9th, for the next Use It Tuesday challenge. Happy crafting!
